Erect, yellowish-green, perennial herb to shrub, covered with stellate and simple hairs, 30-100 cm high, and branching near the base. Leaves cordate at the base, broadly ovate or sub orbicular, 3-10 cm long, crenate-dentate, acute or acuminate, palmately 5-7 nerved at the base; petiole 2-7 cm long. Stipules subulate about 1 cm long. Flowers solitary, axillary, about 3 cm in diameter. Epicalyx absent, calyx campanulate, 1-1.5 cm long. petals yellow, obovate, 1-1.8 cm long, with or without purple center. Fruit a schizocarp, 1-2 cm in diameter, consisting of a ring of 20-35 carpels, densely tomentose, readily separating, rounded at apex. Seeds brown about 2 mm, triangular-reniform, hairy. sp;
