Undershrub, 30-60 cm high, with slender rod-like spreading branches. Branches and leaves scabrous to bristly hairy. Leaves 0.5-2 cm long and 0.5-1.5 cm wide. ovate, obtuse, acutely dentate, subsessile to long petiolate; stipules about 6 mm long, filiform. Flowers solitary. pedicel 0.3-2.5 cm long. Epicalyx lobes, 5-7 mm long, filiform. Calyx 5-7 mm long, 5-lobed, each lanceolate acuminate. Corolla 1-1.5 cm across, reflexed white or pink in bud; petals 5, obovate-oblong. Capsule 1 cm, free, ovoid, or globose. Seed many, cottony.  

Flowering from January to May.
Wadis, hillsides and among rocks.
