Annual herb, 3-10 cm high, villous, stemless or with very short-stemmed. Leaves resolute, obovate-spathulate, 1.2-4)6) cm long, 3-10 mm wide, often mucronate, obtuse or acute, more or less entire, tapering at base to a petiole. Spikes ovate or oblong-cylindrical, 1-2.5 cm long, densly villous, mostly overtopping the leaves. Bracts ovate, acute, 2-3 mm long, equaling the sepals, villous at back, with white scarious-margined. Sepals elliptical oblong, 2.5-3 mm long, with herbaceous midrib and scarious margins, villous at margins and tip. Corolla-lobes narrowly lanceolate, 1-16 mm long, ciliate on back. Capsule obvois, 2-2.5 ,, long, dehiscing near the middle, 2-called, 2-seeded. Seeds oblong, brown, 1.5-2 mm long. 

Flowering from February to April.
Sandy soil.
