Highly salt tolerant. Forage plant.

Annual, densely villous herb, 15-50 cm high. Stems many, erect or ascending, branching nearly from the base. Leaves 0.5-2 cm long and 0.1-0.2 cm wide, linear lanceolate, grayish-green, villous. Flowers 1-3 in cluster, sessile, axillary, loosely spiked, subtended by oblong bracts. Perianth of 5-segments, connate below to the missle, armed on the back with 0.3-0.5 cm long spine, 2-3 times longer than fruit, spreading, straight, needle-shaped, yellow. Seed about 0.1 cm across, discoid, gray. 

Flowering from January to June.
Desert plant, mainly on sandy soil.
