A bulbous, glabrous herb. Bulb tunicated, 1-3.5 cm in diameter. Leaves lonear, green, 3-9 mm wide, thick, grooved, sheathing at base. Flowers few 1-2, mostly in a lax. Bracts membranous. Capsule subglobose, deeply 3-grooved, leathery, opening by 3-valves. Seeds many, flat. 

Flowering from February to March.
Among rocky places.
