Perennial prostrate herbs to one meter long. Stems rigid, much branched, branches divaricate or somewhat zigzag shaped, spreading in all directions, glandular. Leaves 0.6-2.0 cm long and 0.4-1.2 cm broad, alternate, narrow ovate, entire, mucronulate, glandular; petioles short or subsessile. Flowers solitary or few flowers 1-3 in axillary cymes, pedicels short, bracteate. Sepals 5, free, unequal in length, 0.3-0.6 cm long, ovate, acute, glandular, margins membranous. Petals 5, free, membranous, ovate-lanceolate, toothed at the top, as long as sepals. Stamens 7, free, with short, dilated filaments; anthers 2-called. Ovary 2-carpels; styles 2 or bifid, stigma 2, nearly capitate. Fruit subglobes, schizocarpic, separating into 2, 1-seeded cocci. Seeds small; reniform, yellowish-brown. 

Flowering from November to April.
Mostly grown in the desert regions on sandy soil, around Al-Ain, lower leaves often encrusted with sand.
