Honey nectar plants.

Perennial herb, up to 30 cm. Stems and leaves grey-green. Stems rigid, many arising from woody root stock, with nodes and internodes. Leaves rigid, acute, thin, sheathing the slender stems. Flowers solitary, pink-mauve. Bracts of epicalyx 4-8, to less than half as long as calyx. Calyx 15-25 mm long with long lanceolate teeth. Petal-limb fimbriate, nearly to the base of the blade. 

Flowering from February–April.
