Annual glabrous, erect herb up to 12 cm high, with strict filiform, forked often dark-red stem arising from root, bearing tufts of leaves and umbelled cymes. Leaves 10-20 mm long and 2-4 mm wide, spathulate, nerveless, stipules scarious, lanceolate. Flowers sessile, croweded in short branched, terminal spike. Sepals acute, scarious, pinkish-white, with herbaceous midrib. Petals very small, oblong, obtuse. Capsule shorter than sepals. Seeds shining. 

Flowering from February to April.
Wadis and mountain slopes, among rocks.
