Similar to the Centropodia forsskalii species, but more large and robust and of erect growth, mostly with several culms, 50-90 cm high; panicle up to 22 cm long; anthers linear, 1.5-2 mm long; awn of the lower floret up to 2 mm long. Flowering in Spring.
