Honey nectar plants.
Biennial or perennial, ash-coloured, softly pubescent, up to 50 cm high. Stems erect to ascending, many-branched nearly from the base. Leaves obovate to oblong, obtuse, with wavy margins, veined on underside, subsessile above and long-petiolate below, 1-6 cm long, and 0.5-3 cm wide. Flowers sessile in terminal spicate, 1-3 helicoid cymes, elongating in fruit, up to 15 cm long. Calyx 2-3 mm long, persistent after the setulese nutlets have fallen. Corolla white, exceeding the calyx, with cylindrical tube, lobes small, round, crenate. Stigma conical elongate, minutely bifid at the apex. Nutlets 4, ovoid, about 2 mm long, pubescent. Flowering from December- August.
