Perennial, herb, erect, 25-40 cm high, white-hispid, green. Roots stock vertical. Stem branched, leafy in the lower half. Radical leaves 3-7 cm long, upper opposite, long petioled, stipules lanceolate. Petiole long-hispid; blade ovate-cordate, acute, dentate. Peduncles long, with 6-10 flowered. pedicels short. Sepals 4-6 mm long, obovate, membranous-margined, hispid, white, with a long purple mucro. Petals about 6 mm long, pink. Stamens 15. Mericarps 5-7 mm long, hairy, with 2-3 wrinkles beneath the apex; beak 5-8 cm long, clothed, with long silky hairs within. Flowering from January to May.
