Dwarf, annual, prostrate to ascending herb, 5-15 cm high, grey, woolly-tomentose, branched from neck. Leaves oblong-spathulate, 1-2.5 cm long and 3-8 mm broad, entire, obtuse, tapering towards base, densely white-woolly on both surfaces. Heads 8-20 in dense, spherical clusters, sessile in the forks and terminal. Involucral bracts of headlets in many rows, densely fleecy, green medially, with white-scarious margins ending in subulate, acute awns; inner bracts obtuse, ciliate. Florets small, yellow about 1.5 mm long. Achenes about 1 mm long. Pappus of inner florets much longer than achenes. Flowering from February to May.
