Perennial vine, twining branches up to 400(-600) cm, older stems with rough bark. Leaves opposite, variable in shape, from oblong to narrow heart-shaped, 0.5-3 * 1-5 cm, smooth edge, in pairs or whorls of four. Flowers in clusters in leaf nodes on 1-2 cm long stalks, greenish, 1.0-1.5 cm across, petals thin, spiraling. Fruit a follicle, 1* 5-7 cm, narrow tip, sometimes paired. Seeds many, flat, oval, 0.45 cm long, attached to a tuft of hair. Flowering from February to May.
Sand and gravel habitats, in plantation and low mountains.
