Formerly eaten as a salad green.
Perennial, consisting of two or three sterile elliptic leaves on short stems and 3 cm long stem-like leaves that carry the sporangia (13-30 pairs). Appears briefly after rains.
Found in sand, coastal areas, and in salit at higher altitude; threatened due to rapid coastal development.
