Forage, Weed. Mixed with leaves of tamarind and salt, applied on bruises.
Prostrate to decumbent annual, up to 20 cm high, much branched from the base, stems and branches more or less hairy. Stipules 3-5 mm long, deeply dentate or laciniate. Leaves trifoliolate; leaflets cuneate to obovate, 4-10 mm long, 3-6 mm broad, toothed around the upper half, truncate to retuse-apiculate at the apex. Petioles 5-20 mm long. Inflorescences racemes, bearing 1-3 flowered. Flower 4-6 mm long. Peduncle longer than the petiole. Bracts minute, acumminate. Calyx 3-4 mm long, appressed-hairy, of equal teeth. Corolla yellow, twice as long as the calyx. Pod spherical or ovoid, 3-6 mm in diameter, with 3-7 coils, 5-8 seeded; hooked spines in 2 rows on the thickened suture, glabrous. Flowering from February to April.
