Moderately salt tolerant, ornamental and timber plant, grazable, used in folk medicine.
An erect tree, with finely gray-downy branches and densely tomentose twigs. Stipules brownish, subulate, caducous. Leaves imparipinnate, the rachis zigzag; petioles 1-3 cm long, leaflets 3-5, alternate, roundish, 1.5-5 cm long, 1-4 cm broad, truncate below and acutely acuminate above. Flowers small, yellowish-white, numerous, in short axillary panicles, with racemose-corymbose branches, pedicels short. Bracts small, caducous. Calyx 4-5 mm long, tubular, teeth ciliate, unequal shorter than the tube. Corolla often twice as long as the calyx. Stamens 9. Ovary long-stipitate, 5-8 mm long, pubescent, 1-4 ovulate, style very short, glabrous, stigma capitate. Fruit 2-7 cm long, 0.5-1.5 cm broad, strap-shaped or samaroid, 1-4 seeded. Seed flattened, reniform, brown. Flowering from February to May.
