  • REMARKS: It is a popular plant among the locals, and it is in the form of green powder. The powder is called locally (Srio، صريو). Wadi Wurayah National Park (WWNP). In Dhofar (a region in Southern Oman), leaves are used as an insecticide. Toxicity: poisonous. The leaves and sap have a variety of medicinal uses but are said to be poisonous if consumed in large quantities.

Infusion of plant used in treatment of liver disease, also a diuretic and abortive; dried powdered leaves used as a poultice to treat scorpion stings. Leaves are eaten as a sedative. Crushed leaves in water drunk to treat painful joints. Strengthening bones and repairing fractures, Treating chest pain, bloating, stomach problems.

Perennial, strong-odored, erect or ascending herb, 20-50 cm high, mostly pubescent, with several-branched. Leaves highly variable in shape and size, furnished with punctate glands, lower leaves the largest, up to 4 cm long, 1 cm broad, pointed tapering at base and covered with tiny translucent tubercles, margins thick and wavy. Flowers forms flat-topped dichasial cyme, bracteate, subsessile. Sepals ovate, about 1 mm long. Petals 3-6 mm long, oblong, yellow. Filaments dilated at base, mostly hairy, glandular or not. Ovary hairy or glabrous, stigma capitate. Capsule up to 5 mm across, woolly or glabrous. Seeds reniform, transversally wrinkled, tubercled. 

Flowering from February to April.
