Honey nectar plants.
Annual or biennial with a slender tuberous tap-root. Stem up to 80 cm high, erect, branched, hispid below, glabrous above. Leaves Lyrate-pinnatifid. Flowers 1-2 cm across, white, pale pinkish or violet with dark veins. Silques 1-2 cm long, or more, 4-5 mm broad, oblong ellipsoid with long conical, seedless beak; valves spongy, hardly constricted and not braking into joints. Flowering from January-March.
Plantations, waste places and cultivated in fields.
