Forage, Weed.
Erect or decumbent, annual herb, 10-60 cm high. Stem branched pubescent, hairs appressed. Stipules 3-4 mm long, semisagittate or bipartite. Leaves ending in a simple or branched tendrils; paripinnate, with 4-8 leaflets pairs; leaflets linear-oblong, obtuse and mucronate, 8-20 mm long, 2-5 mm broad. Inflorescence an axillary peduncled raceme, 1-5 flowered. Flowers 8-15 mm long. Calyx 3-6 mm long, hairy, mouth oblique, teeth unequal. Corolla violet to blue. Standard 10-15 mm long, longer than wings. Style hairy all round at the apex. Pod oblong, 20-35 mm long, 6-8.5 mm broad, yellowish, compressed, glabrous, 4-6 seeded. Seeds spherical, smooth. Flowering from February to May.
