Perennial herb, of variable size, prostrate or shrubby, 35-90 cm high, grey-green, pubescent. Leaves in 4-7 pairs of leaflets each elliptical, 5-11 mm long, 3-5 mm wide, acute, hairy. Flowers solitary, variable in size, on 0.5-2.5 cm stalk from leaf axils. Petals 5, obovate, about 1 cm long, lemon-yellow. Fruit 1-1.5 cm across, globose, hairy, with serrate wing, along edge of each of the 5 segments, which separate at maturity. Flowering from March to June.
Sandy gravely soil.
