A small, annual herb, with glandular, pubescent stems, and with long-petioled rosetted leaves, varying from simple unlobed to deeply pinnatifid. Sepals end in a long mucro. Petals lilac. Achenes grooved with beak rarely over 2 cm long. Flowering from February to April.
Mostly in irrigated urban areas, especially on well-manured waste ground.
