Annual, hairy to glabrescent, up to 30 cm high. Stems often erect or ascending, branched from base, furrowed. Leaves oblong to oblong-ovate in outline, 2-4-pinnatisect, segments 2-5 mm long, linear; leaf base sheathing, often setulose at margin, lower leaves long-petioled, the upper short petioled or sessile. Umbels terminal and lateral, long-peduncled, 2-3-rayed, 1-3 cm long. Umbellets 4-7 flowered. Bracteoles, obovate, notched. Styles erect, about 1 mm long. Fruit (including beak) 4-6 cm long; margin bristly; beak 2-3 times as long as seed and gradually attenuate to apex; ribs of mericarp prominent, brighter than the dark-brown, furrows. Flowering from February to April.
