Perennial herb, 10-30 cm high. Stems erect, branched from near the base, pubescent, woody at base. Leaves 2-5 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, fleshy, hairy, ovate or elliptic, acuminate, entire or crisped margin. Petioles 1-2 cm long. Flowers yellow, fragrant, in sessile umbellate, 2-8 flowered cymes. Calyx 1-3 mm long, hairy, deeply divided nearly to the base, lobes linear, acute. Corolla 4-6 mm long, divided near to middle; lobes elliptical, acute, veined, keeled at back and sometimes pubescent; corona 5-lobed, pale, 2 mm long, erecto-patent, entire, membranous. Follicles 2-5 cm long, ellipsoid, peaked, attenuated at the base, covered with short soft scattered spine-like processes and hairy. Seeds about 4 mm long, broadly ovate. Flowering from February to May.
Desert plant, often on rocky elevated ground and wadies.
