Perennial, erect or decumbent herb, 20-60 cm high, with many branched from the woody base; branches stout, tomentellous and villous. Leaves sessille, tomentose, radical ones oblanceolate, obtuse, 2-7 cm long, 0.5-2 cm wide, appressed-pubescent, margin plicate, undulate, pinnately nerved, cauline ones becoming smaller, elliptic, repand-wavy, sessile and acute above. Flowers white-pink, axillary, 3-6 in a cymose head, on peduncles more or less as long as the bract. Sepals unequal, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, villose, 5-8 mm long. Corolla 15-20 mm long, capsule ovoid, white-villose at apex, 3-5 mm long. Seeds black. Flowering from February to April.
