Ornamental plant. Pantropical species.
Annual herb. Stems prostrate or twining, branching from the base, up to 60 cm long, hispid with spreading hairs. Leaves 2-5 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, oblong, hastate, acute, entire, margins ciliate, base cordate or hastate, hairy on both surfaces. Petioles 1-3 cm long, hairy. Inflorescence axillary, 1-3 flowered cymes (often only one). Bracts 3-7 mm long, linear, hairy. Flowers subsessile. Calyx 6-8 mm long, lanceolate, hispid and ciliate with bulbous-base, patent hairs. Corolla white, 7-10 mm long, hairy at tip. Capsule 5-7 mm long, globose-ovoid, glabrous. Seed 4, triangular, grey-velvety.
