Perennial, erect, densely pubescent to bristly-pubescent herb or shrublet, 20-50 cm high, often intricately branched. Leaves 0.5-4 cm long and often less than 1 cm wide; lower leaves petiolate; upper nearly sessile, lanceolate or linear, pubescent-bristly, margins crisped-crenulate, with mid-vein visible. Flowers tiny, sessile, in simple or forked terminal, helicoid cymes. Calyx about 2 mm long, persistent. Corolla white, about 4 mm long; tube densely hairy outside. Stamens included. Stigma conical, sessile, persistent on top of the fruits. Nutlets 4, separating easily, glabrous or pubescent, variable in size, shape and sculpture. Flowering from October to April.
Sandy soil and stabilized low coastal dunes.
