Annual herb, 5-20 cm high. Stems erect or ascending, branched nearly from the base, densely setose and bristly. Leaves linear, 2-20 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, sessile, acute. Flowers solitary, in axills of bracts or upper leaves, 3-4 mm long. Fruiting calyx, naked throat. Gynobase about 5 mm long. Nutlets 4, each 1-1.5 mm long, shorter than calyx, ovoid, verruculose; aereole ventral, dilated at base, evenly granular-tuberculate. Flowering from February to April.
