Annual, slender herb, 5-20 cm high, greyish, hairy, often few-branched from base. Root-leaves 2-5 cm long, 4-10 mm wide, oblong, obtuse, the upper oblong-linear. Inflorescences loose, one-sided, upper flowers sessile, lower. Ones pedicelled. Calyx 2-3 mm long. Corolla blue; limbs as long as tube, with 5 rounded lobes; scales wider than long. Nutlets about 3 mm broad, cup-shaped, with incurved, more or less spiny-dentate margin. Flowering from October to April.
Hill sides among rocks.
