Dwarf, grey or lanate, perennial herb, up to 25 cm high, densely leafy from a woody base. Leaves simple, entire, flat, woolly, spathulate, mucronate, 1-2.5 cm long and 8-14 mm wide, upper leaves becoming smaller. Heads globose, 1-2 cm in diameter, borne in dense corymbs. Involucral bracts many, with rounded apex. Flowering from February to April.
