aromatic, dwarf branched, perennial herb, up to 45cm high. Stems amd leaves grey-green, cottony tomentose. Lower leaves linear-spathulate, 1-4 cm long, 3-5 mm wide; upper smaller, sessile partly clasping, with crisped or serrated margins. Heads terminal, solitary, yellow, hemispherical, about 1 cm across. Flowering from April-May.

Gravely to sandy depressions and alluvial plains.
