Aquatic herb, with internodes 1-4 cm long. Leaves nerved, linear-oblong, obtuse 2-5 cm long, 7-10 mm wide, entire, glabrous or hairy, shortly petiolate, which is sheathed at base by a scarious scale. Flowering from June to November.
Shallow waters along the sandy shores.
