Dioecious, aquatic, fresh water annual herb, 20-50 cm high. Stem spiny-dentate. Leaves broadly linear, coarsely dentate along the back and margins, dark-green, 1-2 cm long, 2-4 mm wide. Flowering from September to November.
Fresh and brackish water.
