Honey nectar plants. Ornamental, salt tolerant plant.

Tree or high shrub with reddish-brown to grey bark, up to meters, glabrous, glaucous. Branches jointed. Leaves sheathing, fully encircling stem, without blades. Racemes 3-6 cm long, 4-5 mm broad. Bracts longer than pedicels, acuminate. Pedicels much shorter than the calyx. Flowers spentamerous, pink. Sepals about 1.5 mm long. petals about 2 mm long, ovate-elliptic, more or less caducous. Filaments inserted between lobes of disk. Style 3. Capsule about 3 mm long, pyriform. Seeds many with terminal tuft hairs. Flowering from February-March. 

Planted along roadsides or near brackish water or sabkha in the desert.
