Annual, stems much-branched from base, erect, up to 15 cm. Leaves 0.1-0.3*1.5-3 cm, linear, folded along midrib. Inflorescence terminal, forked. Flowers on 0.1 cm stalks in loose clusters, tiny, up to 0.4 cm across, light blue or white. Fruit relatively large, up to 1 cm across, spiny, yellow/green, with four nutlets, each 0.5 cm. Flowering from February to April.
