Perennial, prostrate or erect herb, of stellate hairs up to 60 cm. Stems thin, slender, many branched from the base. Leaves alternate, variable in size, 2-5 cm in diameter, cordate-oblong, serrate, hairy. Petioles 0.5-2 cm long. Stipules very small, linear, hairy. Flowers solitary, axillary. Pedicels 1.5 cm long, in fruit about 3 cm long. Calyx 4-6 mm, campanulate 5-lobed, equaling, triangular shape, hairy. Petals 5, yellow, obovate, notched at apex longer than calyx. Stamens many. Fruit of few carpels. 1 seed per mericarp, ovoid, nutlet-like, glabrous, brown. Flowering from March to July.
Shady irrigated places, orchards and roadsides.
