Green, twiner or erect herb, or shrub. Stems glabrous to pubescent. Leaf trifoliolate, petiole as long or longer than blade; leaflets 1-2.5 cm long and broad, rhomboid-ovate, acute or mucronate, entire, glabrous to pubescent on the veins and glandular, punctate below. Stipules 3-5 mm long, oblong. Racemes few-flowered, longer than tube. Corolla yellow with reddish veins, 4-8 mm long. Pod 1.5-2.5 cm long, 5-6 mm broad, oblong, glabrous, 2-seeded. Seeds ellipsoidal, rusty-yellow, mottled with black. Flowering from February to April.
