Delicate, glabrous annual or short-lived, perennial grass, tufted, with fine culms, 10-30 cm high or sometimes stem simple, shortly creeping and rooting stoloniferous. Leaf-blades linear, with hooded tips, 5-12 cm long, drk-green. Panicle ovate or oblong or with open pyramidal, lax panicle, with a few spreading branches carrying few spikelets. Glumes white-margined. Lemmas broadly hyaline, silky, hairy, on the lateral and keel nerved. Anther 0.5-0.8 mm long. Flowering in Spring.
A weed in cultivated field.
