Annual grassed, culms tufted, geniculate and often branched at base, 8-30 cm high. Leaf-blades rigid, 1-3 cm long, 2-3 mm wide at base, lanceolate-acuminate, margins with spaced tubercle-based bristle. Ligule reduced to fringe of hairs. Inflorescence similar to the preceding species, but spike shorter and moderately dense, 8-10 mm wide. Flowering in Spring.
