Annual, up to 20 cm tall. Leaves flat or rolled, 0.12-0.25 * 5 cm, sparsely hairy along edges. Inflorescence 1-1.5 cm long, consisting of up to 6 drooping flowers 'heads', each a condensed set of spikelets, surrounded by hairs and with awns. These 'heads' are easily recognizable as they resemble triangular bells. Flowering from February to May.
