Perennial, slender stems erect, up to 60 cm. Leaves grey green, with felt-like appearance. Basal rosette of large oblong leaves with rounded tip, tapering towards the base, 1*4 cm. Upper leaves linear, widely spaced, alternate, 0.2-0.4*2-4 cm. Inflorescence a terminal, much-branched spray of 5-10 round clusters, each c.1 cm across, on several equally long stalks from leaf nodes. Flowerheads tiny, 0.2-0.5 cm across. Ray florets creamy-white, like straw (ever-lasting), disc florets slightly darker. Flowering from February to May.
