Perennial, woody. Stems erect and spreading, up to 45 cm, forming a cushion, white to pale green, stiff, intricately branched, spiny tips. Leaves grey-green, arrow-shaped, c. 0.2* 1.0 cm, with rounded tips, edges upturned, upper surface covered with fine, silky, silver-white hairs. Flowers c. 2 cm across, white, 5-petalled. Flowering from February to April.
