Annual, stems weak, prostrate, up to 20 cm, often rooting at swollen nodes. Not hairy. Milky sap exuded when stems are broken. Leaves tiny, round, 0.2-0.6*0.3-0.7 cm, on short stalks, smooth edge. Inflorescence from leaf nodes, reddish and white. Fruit a round non-hairy capsule c. 0.15 cm across. Flowering from December to May.
