shrubs, 30-90 cm high, mostly with woody base and mealy-canescent. stems prostrate to erect, numerous, diffusely branched. Lower leaves 0.5-3 cm long and 0.3-2 cm wide, short-petioled, deltoid, sinuate-dentate, rearely entire, truncate at base, upper leaves small, sessile. Flowers in clusters both axillary and terminal leafless spikes. Fruiting bracts broadest above the middle, strongly indurated, deltoid-round, 0.5 cm. long and broad, 3-lobed, each of the lateral lobes 2-4 toothed, terminal lobes longer than the lateral ones.  

Flowering from April to October.
