A perennial herb, with many stems arising from a long tap root. Stem prostrate or climbing or twining, up to 1 meter long, sparsely pubescent or glabrous. Leaves entire, alternate, ovate-oblong to lanceolate, 2-6 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, hastate or sagittate at the base, obtuse; petioles smaller than the blades. Flowers axillary, solitary or in 2-3-flowered cymes; peduncles exceeding the leaves; bracts small, awl-shaped. Sepals elliptic, obtuse, scariously margined, glabrous, 3-5 mm long. Corolla 20-30 mm in diameter, white or pink, with red longitudinal stripes at back. Ovary glabrous; stigma 4 mm long, filiform. Capsule globose, glabrous, 4-6 mm long. Seed 4, dark-brown, tuberculate, 3-4 mm long.  

Flowering from March-October.
